Training & Adult Dogs

Acadia's Puppy Training Program

Update - In Session!

We have gotten some great new helpers this summer!  Rosie has decided to stay in the area now that she's graduated from College.  She is wonderful with the routine work around here as well as grooming, photography and training.  Christal has come to us from the veterinary world.  In addition to the daily dog care, she helps with health issues, puppy development, and is studying to be a professional Dog Trainer.  Since Hailee is also still with us and Grace helps when she can, we are delighted to announce that we have started up our training program again!

PLEASE let us know if you are interested in purchasing a puppy with training.

PUppies Available

We have two puppies (pictured) starting our training program on 7/12/25.

They are male Mini Goldendoodles, "Queso" (L) and "Burrito" (R) from our Mexican Food liter.

2 weeks - July 26th

3 weeks - August 2nd

Our structured training program focuses on fundamental skills that make the transition to your home smoother and more enjoyable. Each puppy receives personalized attention and training, with gradually increasing challenges and distractions to ensure solid skill development.

We follow The Puppy Playbook, The Empowered Puppy and Susan Garret's lesson plans, so we turn out confident puppies who think for themselves, make great choices and love their crates.  We'll be covering house/potty training, sleeping in crates, going for rides, sit, down, stay & leash walking.

We dedicate several hours daily to house training, understanding that consistency and patience are key to successful outcomes. Each puppy receives individual training sessions at least 5 days per week, ensuring they develop at their own pace while mastering each skill.

Training success varies by individual puppy, and ongoing reinforcement will be needed in your home environment. We'll provide guidance for continuing your puppy's education and maintaining their progress.

Older PUPPIES & Adult DOGS

Returned Puppies/Dogs

Acadia puppies always have a home here, if their families cannot keep them for any reason.  It has only happened a few times in all these years.  We take the dog back, deal with any health, cosmetic and/or behavioral issues, and start searching for the best place for the puppy/dog to spend the rest of their life.  Sometimes we sell them, sometimes they are given away, and if needed, they may live here for the rest of their days.

Retired Breeding Dogs

Most of our breeding dogs are purebred Golden Retrievers or Poodles.  We also have a few Goldendoodles. By the time we have raised them to adulthood, they have truly become part of our family.  Whether they are "washed" from our breeding program because they don't meet our standards, or have finished their breeding careers and are ready to move on, we hate to see them go.  We usually find them homes with family members or friends, but may, on occasion, consider other highly-qualified homes.

AVAILABILITY

We do not have any older puppies or adult dogs currently looking for homes.
